Included in this series are images of streets, office buildings, government buildings, businesses, churches, private residences, parks, and aerial views of the Five Points, Peachtree Center, and Midtown areas of Atlanta. Street scenes include images of Peachtree Street and West Peachtree Street, Luckie Street, Broad Street, Central Avenue, Edgewood Avenue, Techwood Drive, Marietta Street, North Avenue, Spring Street, 10th Street, Ponce de Leon Avenue, Piedmont Road, Whitehall Street, and Washington Street. The series contains an array of images of office buildings in downtown and Midtown such as the Candler Building, Citizens and Southern Bank Tower, First National Bank Building, Georgia Power Building, The Tower at Tower Place, and Trust Company Bank Building, Colony Square, and the Life of Georgia Building. Landmark buildings, such as the Fox Theatre, the Varsity restaurant, Grady Hospital, Atlanta Municipal Airport (listed as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport) and Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium are also included, as are government buildings, such as the Atlanta Federal Building, Atlanta City Hall, the State Archives Building and the State Capital Building. There are several images of business establishments including bank branches, restaurants, hotels, retail stories, service stations, car dealerships, grocery stores, junkyards, and adult night clubs. Also included are images of urban renewal, images that reveal a process of demolition in neighborhoods surrounding downtown Atlanta. Other than buildings and residential development, this series also contains images of transportation within Atlanta, including images of buses, subway station, and railroads.
