Scope and Content Note

This series includes photographs of outdoor scenes across the state of Georgia. Fort Pulaski, a coastal defense in Savannah, GA that was completed in 1846, served as the site for the first Union assault on the Confederate army in Georgia during the Civil War; the fort stands today as a national monument that attracts thousands of visitors each year. This series also contains a production still from the motion picture Song of the South.
