Scope and Contents note

This series is comprised of images taken for the Atlanta Constitution by photojournalist Joe McTyre. The series includes photographs of people and geographic locations in Atlanta, Georgia. The people included in these photographs are; baseball star Hank Aaron, boxer Mohammad Ali, University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley, educator Benjamin Mays, Atlanta mayors William B. Hartsfield, Ivan Allen, Jr., and Maynard Jackson, and business men Dick Rich and John Portman. Also included are images of Lyndon Johnson, George Wallace and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Howard "Bo" Callaway. The photographs document news events such as the 1967 re-release of the movie Gone with the Wind, and state and national political campaigns. Photographs of geographic locations in Atlanta include aerial views and street scenes in downtown Atlanta.
