Scope and Content

From the Collection:

Most of this collection contains Allen's academic materials from his education at the Institute of Applied Science, specifically his studies on fingerprint analysis. Materials include Allen's handwritten notes, a letter from instructor T. G. Cooke, a series of examination sheets, several pages of newspaper clippings, and Allen's class binder. This collection also contains several materials concerning civilian defense during World War II, informative pamphlets from the Office of Civilian Defense and the State School for Civilian Defense, and a few letters sent to Allen regarding his role in civilian defense. One letter was written by the Captain of Civilian Defense of the Atlanta Civilian Defense Council, one by the Director of Atlanta Civilian Defense, and one by retired Captain Enoch Graf (1883-1943) of the United States Army. This collection also contains a pamphlet from the American Youth Hostels, Inc.
