This collection contains images that Louie Favorite took during his time as a photojournalist for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. The bulk of the collection contains negatives, with the addition of slides and photographic prints from the late 1970s to the early 2000s. Approximately half of the images include sporting events for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Hawks and athletes such as Atlanta Braves player Hank Aaron and Atlanta Falcons player LeRoy Irvin.

Additionally, there are images of Georgia politicians including Jimmy Carter, Andrew Young, and Buddy Darden, as well as international political figures like President Francois Mitterrand of France and Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan. Also included in the collection are ballet productions such as "Giselle," and "The Nutcracker," as well as ballerinas such as Prima Ballerina Maniya Barredo; theater productions in Atlanta such as "The Wiz" and "Macbeth”; filming in Georgia for Cannonball Run and Breaking Away. Additionally, there are photographs documenting Chattahoochee River pollution; Atlanta Murders of 1979-1981; burlesque dancer Tami Roche; Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) tunnel construction; Queer Family Picnic and protest at Marietta Square; and the Peachtree Road Race.

There are additional non-visual materials throughout the collection to retain contextual information such Atlanta Journal-Constitution photograph assignment sheets, event programs, business cards, and identifying information for individuals in the images. All photographs in this collection were taken in Atlanta, Georgia, unless otherwise noted.
