Series II: Other real estate records, 1828-1969, undated
Scope and Contents
This series contains real estate, legal, and financial documents from the metro-Atlanta area, primarily Fulton County and DeKalb County. The bulk are warranty, executor, security, and quit-claim deeds; title reports; and opinions, certificates, and insurance titles. Other documents include abstracts of land; contracts; mortgages; leases; powers of attorney; letters testamentary; wills; indentures; articles of agreement; loans; bonds; and Superior Court and bankruptcy records. Of particular note are blueprints, plats, and cemetery lots (including a few from Oakland Cemetery); and index and deed books, including an Atlanta Suburban Land Company index of deeds. The series also has index cards with hand-drawn blueprints organized by SM numbers that correlate to the abstracts.
