 File — Box: 141, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series contains abstracts of title from the metro-Atlanta area that track property title histories as well as tax payments; street improvements; and legal considerations such as liens, foreclosures, and heirs. Most of the abstracts are for residential properties, but others are for businesses (including Coca-Cola Company, Ansley Park Golf Club, Lithia Springs Hotel, and Decatur Developing Company), railroads (including Western Atlantic Railroad, Old Monroe Railroad, and A. K. & N Railroad Company General), churches and cemeteries (including Rosedale Cemetery and Park Street Methodist Church), and streets and neighborhoods (including Inman Park and the McMillan s.ubdivision). The bulk of the abstracts are from Fulton County, but there are also abstracts from other counties, primarily Cobb and DeKalb. Some folders contain additional real estate documents such as legal correspondence, blueprints, and warranty deeds. Of particular note are abstracts of Bull Sluice Dam, Fulton County Federal Prison, and the Old Fairgrounds.
