Series II: Georgia architectural and historic property surveys, 1975-1999, undated
Scope and Contents
This series contains historic property survey forms with attached photographs created by trained AUDC volunteers and students from Georgia State University’s Heritage Preservation Program. Images mainly depict residences, but there are also streetscapes, commercial businesses, religious structures, and schools. Neighborhoods represented include Adair Park; Brookhaven; Midtown; Old Fourth Ward; Peachtree Heights East; Peachtree Highlands; Tuxedo Park; Washington Park; Westview; and others.
The surveys identify the surveyor, property name and address, description and condition, such as date of construction, and a statement of significance. Some surveys include annotated surveyor notes like drawings of the street layout surrounding the property, or a small neighborhood map highlighting the structure being described. Select surveys include before and after images of the property, that document additions or demolitions to the property. These instances can be found in Tuxedo Park, Peachtree Heights East, and Washington Park folders.
Additionally, this series also includes unidentified images of AUDC staff and affiliated persons during meetings; events, such as the 1977 and 1979 AUDC award banquets; and onsite visits.
