Zoning Subdivisions minutes, 1922

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 3

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series contains committee meeting minutes from the Atlanta-Fulton County Joint Planning Board regarding city changes, such as the establishment of a municipal market located in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood, city charter amendments, and review of applications and petitions to change zoning ordinances. These requests include changing a residential district to a business district; street name changes, such as the Harwick Road to Mystic Place; and granting special use permits so that applicant could use the land in a way it was not zoned. Such as erecting a hospital, church, shopping center, or daycare. Of particular note are minutes from 1922 pertaining to discussions about zoning subdivisions that include a report by consultant Robert H. Whitten (1873-1936) about zoning law, zoning ordinances, and city subdivisions. There are also minutes that reference where subdivisions would be located and include small plats.
