Scope and Content This collection contains certificates awarded to Amos Beckwith and a letter sent along with one of the certificates for proof of receipt. Included are Beckwith's 1850 diploma from the United States Military Academy and commissioning certificates awarded as Beckwith moved up in rank. Among the certificates are his promotion to 2nd lieutenant in the 1st Regiment of Artillery in 1851, his promotion to brevet brigadier general in 1866, and his promotion to colonel in 1888.
Scope and Content This collection contains primarily the personal and professional papers of Beverly Means DuBose, Jr. The bulk of the personal papers document DuBose's military service in the United States Navy.
