Scope and Content This collection contains copies of correspondence and a journal written during the Civil War. There are ten letters written to and about John George McClatchey; a memorial poem written by Minerva McClatchey after the death of her son John who was a private in Company I, 7th Georgia Cavalry. He was wounded at the Battle of Trevillian Station, and died at a hospital in Gordonsville, Virginia.
Scope and Content This collection contains the personal correspondence and memorabilia of two families of two different time periods. The Waddells are the contributors of the Civil War period correspondence which demonstrate in great detail the conditions of the lives of those left at home and of the needs of the soldiers.
