This collection contains images of the christening of the SS John B. Gordon. Included are photographs of individuals involved in the ceremony, including: Reverend G. Borthern Jones; McWhorter Milner; Annabell Allen; Miss Carl Wohlford; Frank Poole; Mrs. Charles I. Allan (spelled Allen in the captions on the photos); Mrs. Edwin L. Jones; and Ellen Beasley.

Scope and Contents of the Records The artificial collection documents through a booklet, correspondence, an invitation, programs, war savings bonds and other printed material the efforts of Atlantans, among them Margaret Mitchell, to support and commemorate the third and fourth iterations of the U.S.S.
