Alston and Glenn family papers
Atwood family papers
This collection contains several legal instruments of the Atwood family filed in Greene County and Putnam County, Georgia. Included is a marriage indenture (marriage certificate), letters of administration for an estate, a court order naming a guardian for a child, a probate will, and a petition to change trustees of marriage indenture.
Childress-Bryant family papers
Colley family papers
This collection contains copies of tombstone transcriptions for members of the Colley family, as well as members of the Daniel, Berry, Hight, and Perry families in the Colley Family Cemetery. Other items include a transcription of Joel Colley's will (written in 1850); typed excerpts from the Newton County deed book; and copies of letters to James G. Bogle and Franklin Garrett in the early 1970's.
John Whitehead last will and testament
This collection consists of John Whitehead's 1857 last will and testament. His will divided his private property and slaves among his children. His son, John R. Whitehead, and son-in-law, Thomas Berrien, who was a county commissioner and judge in Burke County, served as executors of the will. J. Edward Garlick signed the will as ordinary.
Lee family documents
This collection contains an obituary of Cornelius P. Lee; tax receipts from Newton County, Georgia; and a will of Robert Edward Lee.
Nunnally family documents
This collection contains copies of a will of William B. Nunnally of Walton County, Georgia; two letters from Matthew Talbot Nunnally; and another letter from an unidentified individual of Hamilton, Georgia.
Rhodes family papers
The collection consists of family papers, including the Last Will and Testaments of A.G. Rhodes (18 October, 1928) and his wife Amanda Wilmot Rhodes (24 December, 1926). Included are worksheets documenting the dispersal of bequests and legal documents that reference their estate. In his Last Will and Testament, A.G. Rhodes left money to numerous relatives and to the A.G. Rhodes Home for Incurables and Peachtree Christian Church.
Samuel M. Inman and Jane Walker Inman legal documents
This collection contains a will of Samuel M. Inman, a letter testamentary whereby his will was executed; an agreement between Mr. Inman and the Farmers' Loan and Trust Company; a letter to his wife from an attorney; and the will of Jane Walker Inman.
Troutman and Battey family papers
The bulk of the Troutman and Battey family papers are legal documents (many from Floyd Country) generated by those families, including deeds of indenture (many signed by Dr. Robert Battey), wills, and an abstract of title to lands in Floyd County. The collection also contains correspondence, the majority of which was sent to Colonel Hiram Bainbridge Troutman, a book of Minstrel song, and documents pertaining to Atlanta society.
Wilson family documents
This collection contains documents pertaining to the Wilson family from 1825-1899. Documents include a marriage license, land lot certificates, military discharge certificates, receipts, geneological papers, a letter, and a will.
