Robert S. Paden photographs and drawing
This collection contains photographs of five generations of the Smith-Steele-Medlock-Davenport family gathered for Elizabeth Hawkins Smith's 93rd birthday. Also included is a watercolor drawing of Jasper Smith (1836), Martha Ellen Smith Paden's brother, who died during the American Civil War. Of special note are photographs of “Auntie Gracie” and Wilkes Smith, two formerly enslaved people who worked for the Smith family. Robert S. Paden took the photograph of Wilkes Smith.

This collection contains copies of letters from Roderick Gaspero Shaw, a soldier in Company A, 4th Florida Infantry, CSA, to his sister and uncle. Also included is a letter to relatives about his death in Marietta, Georgia during the Atlanta Campaign.
Roderick Perry papers
This collection contains letters written by Roderick Perry and his family and friends of Warsaw, Kentucky. Also included are letters to soldiers requesting help from Kate Perry, Perry's adjutant handbook, and business cards of merchants supplying goods to prisioners of war.

Samuel Bachtell Civil War letter
This collection consists of a letter written by Samuel Bachtell to his wife in which he describes military maneuvers which led to the capture of Atlanta, Georgia. He also describes the destruction of military property by the fleeing Confederate forces and the joy the army felt about capturing Atlanta.
Samuel G. French and John Corse Civil War correspondence
This collection contains two letters dated October 5, 1864 that pertain to the Battle of Allatoona Pass. One letter is from Major General S. G. French of the Confederate States of America demanding the commanding Union officer to surrender his troops. The other letter is a reply to Major General S.G. French from Brigadier General John W. Corse in which he refuses to surrender.

Samuel Spencer Civil War letters
This collection contains carbon transcriptions of fifty seven letters by Samuel Spencer to his father, Lambert Spencer, while he served in the Confederate Army in 1864-1865. He saw service in Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.

Sidney Root papers
This collection contains autobiographic and biographic materials on Sidney Root as well as transcriptions of letters and newspaper articles written by Root. Materials include the manuscripts for Root's unpublished autobiography, Memorandum of My Life and genealogy papers on the Root family. Of particular note is a manuscript of a biography of Root by Walter McElreath, one of the founders of the Atlanta Historical Society.

This collection consist of photocopies of the diaries of Solomon Augustus Lenfest written during the Nine Months Campiagn, 1862-1863, and the Hundred Days Campaign, 1864. Also included is the genealogy of the Lenfest family.

This collection contains organizational records pertaining to the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Included in the collection are programs, correspondence, and invitations.
Stephen Jamison manumission documents
This collection contains manumission records signed by slaveholder Julia Treadway that granted Stephen Jamison freedom. There is an application allowing him to serve in the 4th Regiment of the United States Colored Infantry during the American Civil War that includes an Evidence of Title proving Treadway’s enslavement of Jamison, Treadway’s Claimant’s Certificate and Oath of Allegiance to the United States. In addition, there is a Deed of Manumission and Release of Service for Jamison.

Tatum family documents
This collection contains five items relating to the Tatum Family of Georgia. There are letters and a military parole pertaining to Robert P. Tatum. There is also a letter from W. E. Patmon (W.E. Patman), brother-in-law of Robert P. Tatum, to his family in 1861. Also in the collection is a cover from a Fulton County Confederate Veterans' Association and a Coley-Tatum-Patmon genealogy.
Thomas A. Lesueur parole
This collection contains a parole of private Thomas A. Lesueur on October 8, 1862 in Alden, Virginia. Lesueur was the brother of Mrs. C. S. Gaulden. Lesueur died in 1862.
