This collection contains photographs of LGBTQ+ events and nightclubs taken by Alli Royce Soble. Images depict the annual Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade, the Easter Drag Races sponsored by the Armory, and a drag show at My Sister's Room. Of special note are photographs of the 1993 March on Washington for Lesbian, Gay and Bi Equal Rights and Liberation in Washington, D.C. All images were taken in Atlanta, Georgia, unless otherwise noted.

Scope and Contents This collection contains several photographs taken by Columbus Washington "C. W." Motes, as well as portraits of Motes. Additional photographs include his wife, Emma F. Cochran and Love family photographs

Scope and Content

This collection documents members of the Cochran and Love families of Atlanta and Cobb County, Georgia. Portraits by three Atlanta photographers, William E. Lenney; Moses M. and William H. Gardner; and Edwards & Son (Jay D. Edwards and William M. Edwards) are included. Of particular interest is a carte-de-visite of United States Senator Alexander Stephens Clay (1853-1910). Clay was a tutor for the Love children and lived with the family for a year in Austell, Georgia.

Ellet, Cabell, and Hopkins families photographs

Scope and Content

This collection consists of portraits of members of the Ellet, Cabell, and Hopkins families. The portrait of Mary Virginia Ellet Cabell (VIS 29.8) was produced by Marcus Aurelius Root (1808-1888), a well-known daguerreian, who worked primarily in Philadelphia and New York. Some of the albumen cards were produced by Linnie Condon, a late nineteenth century female photographer working in Atlanta, Georgia.

This collection contains photographs of the Eberhardt family, families associated with the Eberhardts, and businesses in Atlanta, Georgia, including R.P. and J.G. Eberhardt and Company and T.L. Eberhardt Coal Company. Many of these photographs were taken by Atlanta-based photographer Linnie Condon.

George Barnard's Photographic Views of Sherman's Campaign

The collection contains 22 prints of Barnard’s photographs as he traveled with General Sherman's United States Army. Battlegrounds featured in the collection include Kennesaw, Atlanta, Resaca, Allatoona, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The prints were included in a larger collection published in Photographic Views of Sherman's Campaign.

This collection contains photographs of Georgia county courthouses used for Georgia counties: a fact-book on Georgia's counties featuring photographs by the author of all 159 Georgia courthouses. Most photographs are accompanied by descriptions detailing the county and the courthouse’s history, or the building’s architecture. Also included are photographs of former Ashby, Inman Park, and Virginia Avenue street car barns in Atlanta, Georgia.

Leonard Apostolu papers

This collection contains materials collected by Leonard Apostolu during his service in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged. Materials include newspaper draft notices, immunization records, United States Civil Service Commission papers, correspondence, certificates, travel orders, an Army Christmas dinner menu, and commendation papers. Other materials include an Apostolu family tree and genealogy, applications for federal employment, and a recommendation letter.
