Scope and Contents of the Records

These photographs were taken by Andrew Sparks, and include images of geographic locations in College Park, Georgia and in Southwest Atlanta, Georgia. College Park images include the Atlantic and West Point Railroad Depot, City Auditorium, City Hall, College Park High School, First Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, Georgia Military Academy, Main Street, and the Post Office. Southwest Atlanta images include the Enon Baptist Church in Old Campbell on Stonewall-Tell Road.

Administrative/Biographical History

Andrew Sparks was a journalist and editor of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In 1956 he married fellow journalist Olive Ann Burns (1924- 1990) and the couple had a daughter in 1957 and a son in 1960. Additional biographical information about Andrew Sparks has not been determined.
