Biographical/Historical Note

Belle Rogers (1885-1964) was born in Jackson County, Georgia. She married Charles W. McConnell (1879-1940) and they had one daughter, Edyth (1910-1994). Belle McConnell worked as a teacher in the Atlanta Public School System from 1905-1950, tutoring deaf and hard-of-hearing-children. Additional biographical information about Belle McConnell has not been determined.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains materials that document the teaching career of Belle R. McConnell. Materials include hearing test results, lesson plans, activity materials, copies of speeches and reports, McConnell's teaching certificates, news clippings, and correspondence with colleagues and former students.
