Administrative/Biographical History

John Whitehead (1783-1857) was born in Burke County, Georgia, to Mary Wynne and Amos Whitehead. He married Julia Maria Berrien (1801- 1857) in 1825 and they had seven children: John Randolph, Charles, Ruth (Berrien), Valeria (Burroughs), Julia Amanda, Eliza (West), and Philodea (Neely).
