Scope and Content

This collection consists of various legal documents, a letter from "G. L. Hale" to her son, and a petition to re-locate the court in Walton County, Georgia. The legal documents include bills of sale for land, debts, and property deeds for the Abercrombie, Aycock, Hale, and Hawk families.

Administrative/Biographical History

Hugh Abercrombie (1801-1860) married Eliza (b. 1811) and they had two children: Thomas A. B. Abercrombie ( b. 1831) and Ann Elizabeth Abercrombie (1833-1884). Ann Elizabeth Abercrombie married George W. Aycock Sr. (1846-1916) and they had a son, George W. Aycock Jr. (1868-1942). Hilsman Hawk (1808-1867) was born in Greene County, Georgia. Additional biographical information about the Aycock, Abercrombie, Hawk, and Hale families has not been determined.
